Victoria's Secret PINK Yoga Legging Review

LOVE THESE. At first I thought these were so overhyped because they were everywhere, but they're really a staple in my wardrobe. They're really so comfortable and they have the band that gives it that extra flare compared to regular leggings. Yes, I totally agree they're expensive but if you get a deal on them BUY THEM! Like when they're on sale or if you have a coupon $10 off or something, go get a pair! I would highly recommend to not get the "Bling" ones because one they're expensive, two I hate dealing with anything that might possibly fall off on my clothing cause I have OCD and won't wear it if there's something missing off the item and three, because stuff will fall off you SHOULD hand wash them, unless you have a handwash cycle, which is still a pain since you have to collect a bunch of hand wash items so you're not wasting detergent. But that's my opinions and little rant. But you do you.
Enjoy!

New Year's Eve

This look was inspired by Burberry Prorsum Spring 2013. Usually girl go for glittery looks with sequins and shiney colours, so I decided I wanted a metallic look. So I started with the make up and worked the hair and outfit around that. The hair was inspired by Elsa from Frozen. I totally never thought of it before and was so excited to try it out. The key to getting a fuller braid is curling it prior. Yes it takes longer to do overall but trust me, it's totally worth it. The volume you get in your braid is fabulous, plus you you'll have pretty strands when the hairs fall out.

Skin so gold and bright, like an American

Oh the contradictions.
Who says you need rain to wear rain boots?
Yeah I walk around with an American flag like it's my purse.
Don't tell anyone this dress was meant to be worn to a party,
not running around in the field.
Did I tell you this was shot in the winter?
Sometimes we just have to break the rules.

This Is My Idea of Fun

Seriously. I love these frames.

The coat is a family hierloom while the other pieces I got recently. I adore the skirt. I saw it at Khol's and fell in love instantaneously. It runs larger so I would recommend a size down.

I haven't found a good bustier in years and I got the one from Forever 21 last summer so it may be harder to find at this time. I've said this time and time again, but seriously, my Damsels are my go-to shoes. They match with everything and one of my greatest shoe investments yet. GET A PAIR if you get the chance.

Wildfox Couture Bel Air Frame Review

http://instagram.com/p/h1wBYfGugu/

Thank you Cyber Monday for finally allowing me to purchase these babies! So stoked about it since I've been wanting them since the beginning of summer. ANYWAY, just thought I'd give you some info about them in case the photos on the websites are misleading. Yes, they are absolutely gorgeous, but I was surprised to find that they were very stiff and therefore squeezed my head a bit. This could be due to the newness of the it. It's actually a pale pink, like with a purple tint than a baby pink. It's like the Saint German MAC lipstick than a Viva Glam Gaga lipstick. But not to worry! They add the perfect amount of color to any look.

Check out my unboxing below:

Avon Lipstick - Poppy Love Review

I've never tried Avon lipstick before but I received it as a gift. I actually really love this lipstick! The color is highly pigmented and so colorful! It's red color with a hint of orange. I wore it all day and I didn't reapply. The longer you wear it, the more likely it will become more orange due to fading. Check out my videos with it on so you can see if you like it for yourself!

Ion Color Brilliance Brights Purple Review

The purple has yet come out the most even, probably because this is the first time I had enough dye. For long hair you need 5-6 tubes of it. I had 8 just in case. Even though it came out even, as the days have been passing I've noticed different parts of my hair are different shades of purple. Like the under part (even though I bleached the whole head) came out to like a darker purple with shades of blue in it and the top part of my hair is probably the truest purple with some strands are are already lightening up. But I will update you on how it fades. Of pink, blue, and purple, I like the blue best. Only because for me, purple closely resembled black and it didn't make me feel magical. It's a beautiful color though, but I think so far blue bests suits me. Oh yeah, I used the whole tub of the Powder Lightener because I bleached my head twice to get the blue/green out of my hair. Of course there's pigmentation of the colors but I got it washed out enough to put the purple over it. It's definitely more holiday related since people generally do darker hair colors for the fall. Purple does not stain the shower as bad as blue. Honestly, I didn't even see it in the grout of the tiles and I don't think it came off on the towel. However, it does bleed when you wash it so obviously water will probably make it bleed so avoid the rain! At least until it stops bleeding from showering. Don't forget to check out the other colors! Navigate through the blog to find them or look under the different months. They've got their own titles.

DISTRICT 12 INSPIRED MAKE UP

Catching Fire is almost here! The promos are fantastic! And the costumes are to die for! I'm so excited to see how it all came together. So I decided to do my take on District 12 make up, as Cover Girl did.

The original inspiration: http://www.covergirl.com/capitolbeautystudio/catching-fire

My version below.

Materials:
Black Eye Shadow - Smashbox
Gray Eye Shadow - MAC Cosmetics
Oil Slick Lipstick - Urban Decay
Viva Glam Gaga - MAC Cosmetics
Blue Eye Shadow - Maybelline Loose Pigments
Copper Eye Shadow - Maybelline Loose Pigments
Eye Liner - L'Oreal http://www.lorealparisusa.com/en/Products/Makeup/Eyes/Eyeliner-Brow/Lineur-Intense-Felt-Tip-Liquid-Eyeliner.aspx?shade=Carbon-Black
Telescope Mascara - L'Oreal http://www.lorealparisusa.com/en/Products/Makeup/Eyes/Mascara-Primer/Telescopic-Original-Mascara.aspx?shade=Black
Foundation - MAC Cosmetics
Powder Foundation - Clinique

District 12 is the coal mining district, therefore they were with coal. That's dead obvious. Hence, the make is up is heavily focused on the black eye shadow. As you move up the eye, the more the "fire" burns, hence gray gives it the ashy look while the blue and copper color gives the effect of burning fire. Everything in the Capitol is dramatic and overdone, so this look works perfectly. Especially with the hair! Ended up working out in my favor. (Ha, movie reference)

This is a cool website. http://capitolcouture.pn/
Also was inspired by this for the look.

This look is good for Halloween or dress up! Enjoy.

Lifeproof iPhone Case Review

I literally love this product. Like I didn't think I'd buy into it but I DID. It's the perfect phone case for trips. LITERALLY. Because it's resistant to water and it's pretty much prepared for all whether conditions. I recently took it to Florida/Bahamas where the whether is much wetter/muggier than California. So having this phone case really protected it from the moisture in the air. ALSO, it rains a lot! So I was able to vlog in the rain! It was so awesome! I loved it. I was also able to take it to the beach so I could take photos and footages. It's not too heavy or bulky either like the OtterBox and it claims it protects your phone from 6.5 foot falls. I haven't tried that and don't plan to, but I guess that's assuring. The only downside is that it blocks the where you talk to it's really muffled over the phone and the best way to have a conversation is via speaker phone or FaceTime. This also effects filming sometimes because it sounds muffled and hard to hear but I think it's a great product otherwise!

Check out my vacation vlogs to see some of the footage filmed with the LifeProof Case on!

RiRi Hearts MAC Fall Collection

Holy crap man. This collection sold out so fast. I thought it was weird how they repackaged RiRi Woo and resold it for $16.50! Yeah I know it's only a $1.50 more than what I bought it for but hey! Every cent counts! Glad I got it for $15. AND it's sold out under the new packaging and pretty much all the products are sold out in terms of the lipsticks and the eye shadow palettes. I don't know why I'm always the last to know. Sad face. ANYWAY! I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Nude by RiRi Hearts MAC so I'm super stoked about that! Stay tuned for a make-up look featuring this lipstick.

Hope your weekend is going well.

Chambray Fit and Flare Dress Review

Absolutely love this dress! It's so versatile! Literally you can wear it with anything.
I'm 5' 3" and I wear a size small. It is short so I'd advise wear shorts or briefs underneath. The best part about this dress is that it doesn't show cleavage but super feminine.

MERMAID HAIR

This is how I created my mermaid hair! Gaga's video was such an inspiration and it's so easy! If you want to go bigger, curl more pieces, add extensions, wear a wig, do what you have to do!

Check out my other blog post for the makeup and watch the video as well!

MERMAID/LADY GAGA/HUNGER GAMES DISTRICT 4 Look!

Thanks to the Sephora Ariel Palette, I was inspired to create a look based on the palette. But then I thought, why just make it tailored to that palette, but encompass multiple looks into it as well. Thus, I came up with this look.

Inspired by Lady Gaga's hair and District Four from the Hunger Games, I created the perfect mermaid look for Halloween or any kind of themed event.
Check out the video below to see how I did the make-up.

Materials:
Swavorski Rhinestones from Artbeads
Glass Pearls from Michaels
Craft Seashells from Michaels
Tulip Body Glue from Michaels
Alice in Wonderland Palette by Urban Decay
Telescopic Mascara by L'oreal
Cosmetics from Victoria's Secret
Four Shadow Palette by MAC Cosmetics
Viva Glam Gaga by MAC Cosmetics
Acne Solutions Clearing Solution by Clinique
Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder by Clinique
Foundation by MAC Cosmetics

The make up colors were chosen to recreate a sandy beach while giving an airy, mystical-like glow hence there are no harsh lines in the design. Any colors would work, I just personally like these. Good luck!

Sephora's Ariel Palette

I adore this palette! The colors are gorgeous! Whenever there's a collaboration with Disney for any make up brand the products are fantastic. Check out the video above!

Seriously, though, I want to see the Jasmine Palette! I've heard they're also making a Cinderella Palette as well. Ah! So much to look forward to!

Homecoming Dress Shopping at Windsor!

Dress #1
I LOVE BLUE! As if you couldn't tell already with my blue hair, but there's something about a dark blue that makes things so pretty. Like this dress. Showing off the back always appeared elegant to me so this V back opening is not too sexy while showing a little off, but still classy. Drapey/peacock earrings and bangles would perfect accessorize this as well
I couldn't find the actual link to this dress but here is a similar one. Silver colored shoes would bring out the sequins of the upper part of this dress.
http://www.windsorstore.com/Shop/Dresses/Short-Dresses/Jazzy-Navy-Homecoming-Dress/p/172751

Dress #2
Perfect for mermaid related events! I would totally pair it with a tiara and for those of you who get nominated, this would be your dress. You can wear the tiara and not look to flaunty. Shelled accessories would bring out the mermaid look. Honestly, I would wear my Damsels or Nightwalk Lita's with this dress.
Dress #3
If you're daring enough to wear red, I really like this one. Because red is already a bold color, the simpleness of this dress is very nice. The dress I tried on had gold detailing but the one in the link appears to be silver, so whichever color it is for you, matching it with the same accessories would work. Nude or black heels would probably be best.
Dress #4
FAVORITE ONE YET! This one totally caught my eye when I was looking for dresses and the best part about it is that is has straps! No need to worry about anything falling down. Champagne doesn't work for all skin type unfortunately, and I was afraid that it would blend too much with my skin, but it was not an issue. This dress comes in other colors without the glitter/sparkle so it's more muted, but I adore the champagne with the glitter. I would wear mint or red heels with this dress and accessories to match the heels or any metallic colors.

RiRi Woo MAC Lipstick Review

Yes all the reviews are accurate. This lipstick is great in every aspect in terms of color, long lasting wear, and texture. I tend to like Matte lipsticks so this is one is perfect to add to your collection. I've been using Russian Red prior to buying RiRi Woo and I must say this has become my favorite lipstick after one wear. The color is very bold and very red. It lasts up to 8 hours with eating and drinking so reapplying isn't really necessary. If you leave it on over night, the outlining of your lipstick will remain intact if that's any consolation. I applied chapstick prior to putting on the lipstick which may or may not have enhanced it's longevity. Because it's matte it's harder to move around on the lips so putting chapstick on makes it a little easier to apply. Definitely a must by if you have the chance.

Have a good week!

Ion Color Brilliance | Teal Review

I retouched my blue and ended up using Teal for underneath since I ran out of Sky Blue dye. If going for an aqua color and choosing between the Aqua and Teal dye, go for the Teal. It's been in for 2 weeks now and it hasn't changed colors quite yet but barely entering it's green stage. I left the dye in over night with a shower cap and maybe that enhanced the colors all around. Definitely buy more than less boxes of dye when using any of the blue colors because it will be quite evident when you miss a spot on your head. The teal is more pigmented and has less of a contrast compared to sky blue and blends better.

Hope your weekend's been well.

UNIF Hellbounds Review

I FINALLY GOT MY HANDS ON THESE BABIES!!! OMG, if you get a chance to buy them and adore them, do it! I have no regrets buying these. They fit true to size and they are so easy to walk in! They're like right in between the Jeffrey Campbell Damsel and the Nightwalk Lita in terms of weight of the shoe and ease of walking. Unboxing video and looks to come!

Applause Selfie

I am so totally stoked Applause was released a whole week early! It feels like this is the year of great music! Gaga's Artpop will be released in November and Michelle Chamuel's All I Want will be released in September. So much to look forward to!

In the celebration of Applause, here's my take on the Applause make-up.

This was done entirely with eye-shadow, except the lipstick. This was one of the easiest and most relaxing make-up designs I've ever done cause I literally used my finger to apply it and it didn't need to be perfectly symmetrical and it was just bursts of colors. I think Gaga used some kinda of paint or possibly like Ben Nye's for her look. Totally missed her at Micky's Weho and I was literally stalking everyone's instagrams until I knew for sure she left. So happy for those monsters who got to meet her!

Paws up!

I see a normal set of eyes staring back LookBook

I've been experimenting with new make-up styles. This one was inspired by Dior Haute Couture 2010. The make up was very angular and very bold. This probably wasn't the best outfit to try it on considering the colours weren't very loud but it still came out pretty well. I based the similar shade of eyeshadow as my top as the rectangular part and left the cat-eye over it.
Hair was inspired by Cara Delevingne from one of her eyewear campaigns.
Most of my looks are inspired by songs, and I've been obsessing over "Let her go" by SslashHe. It's an amazing song and artistically written. Check it out.

Eye Shadow: Urban Decay's Alice in Wonderland pallet combined with Victoria's secret pallet.
Eyeliner: L'oreal Telescopic Liquid Eyeliner.
Mascara: L'oreal Telescopic Mascara
Lipstick: MAC Costa Chic
Earrings: Long studs from Forever 21
Crop Top: Styles for Less
Lace Skirt: Urban Outfitters
Heels: Dolca Vita Alliance

Canon Rebel T3i and Powershot SX230 Review

I've been doing a lot of filming and photo taking these last couple of days and I've been using the Canon Rebel T3i. I've been a Canon fan for quite some time now. I had my first Canon camera at the age of 12 and I've been updating my camera's quite frequently. My top go to camera's are the Powershot and Rebel. I take the Powershot for like theme parks and beach days so I guess outings because it fits so conveniently in my bag whereas the Rebel I like using for photoshoots and recording videos.
Here are some examples from the Powershot that I've used on this blog.

As I've mentioned, it's great for outdoor events and using at night because it typically doesn't rely on using flash because it has a lot of backlight from the camera that it uses. It does an excellent job of picking up natural colors. These are some of my favorites that I've shot on this camera.

Here are examples of the Rebel from this blog as well.

It's really great for headshots and capturing action images because it literally picks up everything. Without make up, my face looks super splotchy in this camera. Not a fan of it when I don't wear make-up. But it takes great shots and pretty affordable for a something that is considered a "good" camera.

Some people have their own preferences obviously, but I thought I'd share mine.

Happy Hump Day.

Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?

During the middle of making the #pinkbookselfie contest, I decided to take this opportunity to make another look. I'm seriously in love with this hair!! I wish I could have a wig that looked like this all the time.
http://instagram.com/p/cgBq_aGum9/

Yes these shots are really similar but I thought they capture different aspects of the make up or the entire shot itself. As I've mentioned before, hair was inspired by Lana Del Rey from the H&M photoshoot as well as the make-up from multiple live performances of her with a similar style. HOWEVER, because of our different eye shape and features it looks different. I did take a different approach to it and the outlined eye-shadow met up with the cat-eye instead of the crease line that Lana has. Her's tends to be darker and more defined as well with a cat-eye that reaches almost to her eyebrow.  If I get a chance to redo the look I will post it soon.

Dress: Forever 21
Heels: Nightwalk Lita JCs
Lipstick: MAC Viva Glam Gaga
Eye Make Up: Victoria's Secret Pallet, L'oreal Eyeliner, L'oreal Telescope Mascara

Guess what tomorrow is?
FRIDAY! Woot. But during summer, every day feels like Friday.
Hope you're all well.

School buys - New Boots

Back to school is around the corner and for some of y'all it's in the next few weeks. There are what I've been looking at to add to my shoe collection for this new school year and fall essentially.
I saw these displayed in Nordstrom and nearly bought it without thinking. It has the same style as the Troopa because it's still laced but it's half the height of the shaft of the boot and the cuff adds the perfect edge. If I do end up buying this, I would definitely choose the black since I already own brown boots. I own another pair of black booties from Forever 21. Have to say I'm not a huge fan of them. I've literally worn them like twice and they were both to Lady Gaga concerts. These would definitely replace them and get much better wear than those boots. BUT anyway! I would recommend buying them now during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale! I will probably wait on them, sad face cause I'm a broke college student. In the description is warns to order a size smaller cause I guess they run large so I would definitely try them on first.
I love over the knee boots because I was inspired by Sailor Moon to own a pair. I currently own one over the knee boot (The American Rag ones) and adore them. I wore them throughout my San Francisco Trip and they kept me warm during the cooler weather of northern Cali. But I like these ones because they look almost thigh high and they don't flap over. I haven't tried them on yet, but if I ever get a chance to, I will let you know how they fit!
I've been unable to acquire my Human Aliens and Hellbounds, so I've been contemplating other pink shoes. I guess you can never have too many boots. These would definitely be a contender if they never come back in stock. Sad face.

Enjoy the weekend.

xx

J. Crew Kids' suede MacAlister Boots review

I bought these suckers in store and had them shipped to my house cause apparently J. Crew hates holding kids shoes in stores. Just kidding. I'm sure they have a wonderful reason why they don't carry more children's attire in their stores. ANYWAYS. So the lovely salesperson was really helpful in finding the shoe for me since clearly the men's size was way too large, and the funny thing is, we based off the size from literally measuring my friend's foot and even then it still too big and it ended up fitting me. I wear a size 7 and ordered k5 in the kids size so for future references and you're interesting in buying the kids shoes women's size 7 equates to kids k5 or whatever the sizing is on it.

There's the link in case you're interested in buying, which I'm sure isn't the case.
Happy Weekend.

Put your hands on up for me and feel the paranoia lookbook

I absolutely adore this look because it's so simple and works for multiple occasions.

http://instagram.com/p/cFS8fUGuuL/

This dress is great because it's a maxi and it has an embroidered pattern on the back to make it look a bit dressier. Yeah I know, I need new sunglasses and earrings for my looks. I added my flower to the dress to accent my hair and give more color. (Yeah, right it was on my head and I wanted to put the hat on and put it there and took the picture forgetting to take it off.)
Inspiration behind this look was Ella Riot's Karma. So love this song. If you haven't heard it check it out.

Tank and Lace Racerback Dress from Victoria's Secret

Bought this one in this pink. I was interested in buying it in white, which H&M had a similar one but the material wasn't thick enough so it was very see-through. It runs a bit large because it's meant to be worn with a bandeau but if you're not interested in wearing a bandeau, I'd buy the smaller size and wear a stickie boobs bra so that way it doesn't show, or wear a bra that doesn't show all the straps. I particularly like their dress because even though it's a tight fit it doesn't expose all your curves and is actually flattering. I originally wanted it in the tribal print but it sold out during the semi-annual sale. Plus in stores the dress is now $15.
This one is also selling for $15 and I got this one in black. I'm planning on using it as a cover-up as it advertises because it's way to baggy to be wearing it as a dress.

I had a $10 off so I got the dresses for $20 and tax so it was a great deal.
I plan on styling the tank dress with black leather vest and my damsels. Look to come!

Thank you for being brave.

#PINKBookSelfie Contest and Living for the Fame Lookbook

I wasn't planning on doing this contest but I figured I have the resources might as well do it. It was a lot of fun because I was going for Lana Del Rey's look with the hair and makeup and my hair turned out better than I had hoped. I absolutely loved it.
Process of doing my hair.

My lovely set.

Instagram submission
http://instagram.com/p/b0EqqHGupu/
The submission was inspired by Daisy on the Great Gatsby promo photo and yes these clothes are all owned and not bought just for the shoot.
Make up was done by myself and I used the Victoria's Secret pallets that were on sale during the Semi-Annual, L'oreal eyeliner, and MAC's Viva Glam Gaga.
Hair was done with Aussie hairspray and used a pick comb to get the tease. Headpiece was a gift from Hawaii.
