Ion Color Brilliance Brights | Mint Review

I think I say this with every dye, but I freakin love this color. I think this is most like me in every way. I mean I love my rainbow hair but I really adore the way my hair came out for this round of color. I think Ion Color Brilliance changed their formula because this one didn't wash out splotchy like it normally does and it didn't even bleed when I was it with soap and water. I may be speaking too soon as I've only washed it once. I did experience two shades of the color (roots and ends of hair), which may be due to freshly bleached hair so it was taking differently than the rest of my head, it or could be because there's more yellow in my roots than the end of my hair so it was able to take the true color of the dye. Shitty part about it though is that we were afraid that my hair wouldn't take this color dye so we literally globbed it on to make sure it stayed AND I slept with the dye in my hair overnight. Total process = approx 5-6 hours including bleach and putting dye in. It may have been less because during the bleaching session, we ran out of developer so we had to run to the store. But anyway, totally boxes = 5 Mint + 2 Lavender. Holy geezus 7 boxes is a lot and Sally's sells out of the mint so fast. What a dilemma. Hopefully they have some soon by my next dying session. What are your thoughts on this dye?

Ion Color Brilliance Brights Purple Review

The purple has yet come out the most even, probably because this is the first time I had enough dye. For long hair you need 5-6 tubes of it. I had 8 just in case. Even though it came out even, as the days have been passing I've noticed different parts of my hair are different shades of purple. Like the under part (even though I bleached the whole head) came out to like a darker purple with shades of blue in it and the top part of my hair is probably the truest purple with some strands are are already lightening up. But I will update you on how it fades. Of pink, blue, and purple, I like the blue best. Only because for me, purple closely resembled black and it didn't make me feel magical. It's a beautiful color though, but I think so far blue bests suits me. Oh yeah, I used the whole tub of the Powder Lightener because I bleached my head twice to get the blue/green out of my hair. Of course there's pigmentation of the colors but I got it washed out enough to put the purple over it. It's definitely more holiday related since people generally do darker hair colors for the fall. Purple does not stain the shower as bad as blue. Honestly, I didn't even see it in the grout of the tiles and I don't think it came off on the towel. However, it does bleed when you wash it so obviously water will probably make it bleed so avoid the rain! At least until it stops bleeding from showering. Don't forget to check out the other colors! Ion Colour Brilliance Powder Lightener Review

As you all know, I've previously been using Prism Lites to bleach my hair but I finished the bag of bleach and decided to try a different product. I figured if I'm using the spray before putting in the dye and the color locking agent after the dye, heck, I might as well try to bleach. The ratio is 1:1 to the developer which I thought was odd considering prism Lites was 1:2. So I followed the instructions and it created a pasty/cement looking concoction. So I thought, oh crap I didn't follow the directions properly. I checked the bottle again and it said 1:1. I started to apply the product on my head and started off with a super thick layer of bleach. I panicked and thought it was too much so I thinned out the layer enough to cover the unbleached portion. After we finished the entire crown, I went through my head to make sure my hair was taking the bleach and noticed the hair wasn't changing color fast enough except for the section that we had caked on the bleach. So guess what. I went back and globbed on the bleach. Don't be afraid to apply a thick layer because it is the most effective way to lighten the hair. I don't know the best way to describe the amount but I'd probably say 1/8 of an inch but enough to visibly see the beach on the hair you want to dye.
Honestly, I feel this bleaches better and faster than the prism Lites especially if you apply the right amount because it ended up being lighter than my last bleaching session. I was pretty pleased with the results with only using Ion Color Brilliance products and I think this is one of the most evenest dying I've done except the last time. The Fuschia color takes the best and is the most even when dyed but when it washed out it fades splotchy. But that could be due to sunlight, heat, and other factors.
